From Mess.be: Now that the 8.5 cogs are set in motion, all what's needed is the eagerly-awaited Mess Patch, with its 80+ features to help you make Messenger your own. So what's new in this release?
- Another HOT exclusive option that transforms your conversation window to look like the contact list (see screenshot here).
- A new option to remove partner links from the display picture window (as requested by Markus).
- Patching profiles have been removed.
- Bug fixes: Dynamic display pictures now appear properly when viewing full-sized display pictures in the contact card (reported by the andyman), in addition to a dozen of other minor bug fixes.
Worthy of your attention, is that this version of Mess Patch shows a license agreement page if any of the ad-removal options is selected. Advertisements are what keep Windows Live Messenger free and we discourage messers from removing them. Please make sure you read the license agreement thoroughly.
PS: This is an English-only version of Mess Patch, expect a multilingual release sometime next week.

Seems like a pretty sad life. Sitting at your computer all day, uploading crap and posting links on various forums just so you can get a few rapidshare points. I don't get it.

man i got a problem with the installers from this beta version, i installed the spanish version once but i already unistalled it.
Now i can't run any installtion anymore cause they don't work here anymore.
When i press accept in the installation it just closes down...
Anyone else experiencing this problem?
Can someone maybe send me zipped file op the windows live folder? (plz not rapidshare)

If you are having problems installing Writer, Messenger 8.5 or Mail, in particular if the the Windows Live installer disappearing halfway through (after a Windows Vista UAC prompt if enabled), this may help.
Close all Windows Live applications
Navigate to C:\Program Files\Windows Live and delete the Installer folder
Navigate to C:\ProgramData and delete both Windows Live Installer and WLInstaller directories if you have them.
Reboot (important!)
Reinstall the application you want to install

I am facing a similar problem when installing the WLM V8.5 english. It just prompt me as an error occured.
Any ideas how to fix it? Tried the xgrinch method but to no avail.
Pls help. Thanks a million in advance.

Usually, I install messenger, copy the installation folder and uninstall, and delete the usnjournal with fsutil. Then I register the essential dlls (except live call and sharing folders/usnjournal stuff) in the messenger folder and it runs fine.
